Advanced Communication and Presentation Skills
With the innovative use of iPads in the classroom, presentations and projects in ACP reflect the reality of the tools available. Students become Keynote experts, weaving between multiple apps and techniques to best execute their project requirements.
Time management and Group Work are also key, as students are educated on how to best manage their time throughout the process of creating a project and/or presentation.
ACP reflects the standard University tutorial setup, with active listening, turn-taking, and elaboration skills in constant use and refinement. One of the biggest differences between a North American college learning environment and Brazil/Korea/Japan is group work. Grades in North American colleges are often based on Group Work and how well you perform in the group. In North America, the university professor gives lectures then students attend regular group work sessions led by a Teaching Assistant. Many International Students find the group work sessions to be the most challenging. Students must complete projects, debate, give opinions, share information and do research as a group. Our ACP program prepares students for both professor’s lectures as well as the group work sessions. Project-based learning is becoming a fundamental teaching strategy in North America. Knowing how to complete a project in a group is a valuable skill for International Students. The ACP program will help you do this.
